How do I get on the show? It's easy. All you have to do is attend our live taping, sign up, and we will call you up to the stage. Acts will be selected by a talent coordinator based on time, quality, category, uniqueness, and a short interview.
Tips and Guidelines: Arriving early (6:00-6:30) will help assure a spot on the show. Get to the microphone as fast as possible. If interviewed by Norman, keep answers short. Be enthusiastic. Project to the back of the room. Finish your act in 3 minutes or less. Be a good sport if you are cut short. The performer's reaction to this is a determining factor in editing.
Rules:
Acts will be limited to 3 minutes but many will be cut short. If you hear the band play, that means it's over and you must leave the stage. All acts will be limited to two microphones. Musical acts will be limited to an "unplugged" performance. Drums cannot be used but drummers may use anything that can be carried by one person and does not require set up time. This is to keep the live taping from coming to a halt for a sound check. Our goal is to keep the live audience entertained and a steady flow of acts is very important. Acts with props or instruments will have 30 seconds to set up and start. If an act fails to start in 30 seconds, it will be cancelled and the next act will be called up. Profanity is allowed only if you're funny. The use of fire, animals, or anything dangerous will not be allowed. No one is guaranteed a spot on the show. Performances chosen for broadcast are selected in the editing process and many performances will be cut short. We reserve the right to stop or refuse any act at any time without explanation. *No, you don't have a full 15 minutes. That's just the name of the show. But we do encourage you to come back!
